The large cranberry, or American cranberry, also known as Vaccinium macrocarpon, is native to North America, where the majority of the world’s cranberries are produced.^1,2

In Europe, the small cranberry, or Vaccinium oxycoccus, is harvested from the wild but the large cranberry is also grown commercially.³
